UPDATE ARCHIVE

March 2009

So much for monthly issues! Sheesh! Anyway, let's get right to it shall we?

This issue, Eric reviews Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine for the Sega Master System, Mario's Tennis for Virtual Boy and Pac-man on the G1 Android. I review Halo 2 on the Xbox as well as Joust and Space Invaders on the Atari 7800.

Most Wanted also gets a refresh, and the front page gets a new byline and a few tweaks here and there.

Sorry for the absence, we should be back publishing in a more timely manner.

July 2008

What's this? A new le geek issue so soon?

This month, Eric reviews Submarine Attack and Trivial Pursuit on the Master System, and I review Discs of Tron and Frogger on Xbox Live Arcade. I also review Beautiful Katamari on 360.

Most Wanted also gets updated. E3 hasn't happened yet, but big games announcements for the fall are starting to trickle in. It will be interesting to see what surprises are being left for E3, and then to see which games live up to the hype.

No promises, but I think we're going to start publishing monthly issues! Eric will probably continue his Master System review streak and there is a good chance I'll have a review for Professor Layton and/or Halo 2.

May 2008

This issue, Eric continues his Sega streak with reviews of ALF on the Master System and a bunch of Sega CD games: Android Assault, Blackhole Assault, Microcosm and Ultraverse Prime. As a bonus, I finally get around to actually drawing the Sega CD!

Due to a contest on Digital Press, I spent a lot of time playing Activision games on the 2600 and subsequently review Barnstorming, Chopper Command, Dragster and Robot Tank. River Raid and Seaquest get a second look, and I also finally got around to beating Halo: Combat Evolved.

Most Wanted gets it's quarterly refresh and in lieu of E3, I think both of us are wondering what the next big games are. Also, the feedback, newsletter and link suggestion forms are back online after a long absence.

I'm not sure what Eric has up his sleeve for the next update, but I plan on reviewing several XBLA games and hopefully filling in more Activision shaped gaps in the Atari 2600 section.

January 2008

It's a new year and we're late as usual! Still, I think we have a good batch of stuff for your reading pleasure, starting with Eric's Master System binge. He reviews Cloud Master, Aztec Adventure and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?

And I go a bit Nintendo crazy with reviews of Metal Slug Anthology and Rayman Raving Rabbids on the Wii, Dig Dug: Digging Strike and Simple DS Vol. 7 on DS, as well as Wave Race 64 on (wait for it) Nintendo 64. To cleanse the palate, I offer a write up of Super Pipeline for the Commodore 64.

You may notice some format changes, offering a bit more info like publisher and release date. Or you might not! Either way, the changes just cover the most recent reviews for now, but I'll "retcon" the rest of the site soon.

In features—as always—we offer our tweaked gaming wish lists in Most Wanted. And it's been awhile, but a new shockbox insert, King of the Monsters, is ready to print.

I finally picked up an Xbox 360, so there is a good chance that we'll finally have some Xbox content soon. The ability to download demos of games right to your machine is pretty great and something Nintendo really should look into for the Wii.
