THE LATEST
January 2008

It's a new year and we're late as usual! Still, I think we have a good batch of stuff for your reading pleasure, starting with Eric's Master System binge. He reviews Cloud Master, Aztec Adventure and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?

And I go a bit Nintendo crazy with reviews of Metal Slug Anthology and Rayman Raving Rabbids on the Wii, Dig Dug: Digging Strike and Simple DS Vol. 7 on DS, as well as Wave Race 64 on (wait for it) Nintendo 64. To cleanse the palate, I offer a write up of Super Pipeline for the Commodore 64.

You may notice some format changes, offering a bit more info like publisher and release date. Or you might not! Either way, the changes just cover the most recent reviews for now, but I'll "retcon" the rest of the site soon.

In features—as always—we offer our tweaked gaming wish lists in Most Wanted. And it's been awhile, but a new shockbox insert, King of the Monsters, is ready to print.

I finally picked up an Xbox 360, so there is a good chance that we'll finally have some Xbox content soon. The ability to download demos of games right to your machine is pretty great and something Nintendo really should look into for the Wii.

Here's to a great 2008!

-Ben

P.S. I'm always looking for feedback.

Wow, it's hard to believe le geek has been online for a decade! When I started the site, I was still in college and retrogaming wasn't yet a word. Now, 10 years later, I'm married with a family, and retrogaming for many might mean Sega or Nintendo... leaving Atari's to be filed away with 8-Tracks and other antiquities.

Anyway, from Pong to Xbox 360 and whatever comes next, le geek will continue (slowly, but surely) to review video game favorites regardless of era.

Speaking of, Eric reviews Hotel Dusk: Room 215 on DS and Shanghai on the Lynx. He also writes the latest Head-to-Head: Lynx Casino vs. Caesar's Palace.

Ben reviews Wii Sports as well as Neo Driftout and Neo Turf Masters on the Neo-Geo. Also, a previously reviewed game get a second look—The Goonies [C64].

In features, Eric and Ben Wax Nostalgic on the last ten years and in Most Wanted, our editors' top ten upcoming game lists are again freshened up with the latest from "Min-E3" shuffling the spots.

Again, from the little 'zine that might, thanks for reading. While most of you are bots, scouring for keywords, we salute you.
