I suppose it's futile to continually aim for quarterly updates, but I am a big fan of Fool's Errands! Let get right to it shall we?

This issue, I review Test Drive on the Amiga, Spectre on Classic Mac and Halo 3 on the 360. I have also revamped nearly all the Commodore 64 reviews, either by adding more detail or by simply wordsmithing to better approximate the King's English. Several games also received a new score: Choplifter, IK+ and Lazy Jones.

Eric's been busy with "real life" stuff, but tells me he is a Level 31, Boon Dongle Defender in Borderlands. So I suppose he's keen on the game...

In Features, a few new ShockBox inserts are available: Riding Hero and two U.S. variants on the Ironclad design by dubdubdub.

Most Wanted gets a refresh as well. Initially, I was having trouble coming up with a list of 10, but Nintendo's Spring Media Summit and it's upcoming barrage of Cave Story, Picross 3D, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Sin & Punishment: Star Successor and Metroid: Other M all in the first half of this year fixed that in one swift stroke.

In off-site news, GameSpite's 3rd issue was recently published, and—as an encyclopedia of 8-bit Heroes—it might be of interest to fellow retrogamers. Written by GameSpite's merry band of tyrants, I pen the pieces on Mr. DO, Pitfall Harry, Roderick Hero and Secret Agent. The hardcopy can be had here, or you can slowly read it here for free.

As always, we're a bit later than I'd like, but hopefully we're back on track for quarterly updates.

This issue, we seem to be covering the 360 exclusively. I'm sure we'll get back to more retro content soon, but in the meantime, I'll give the soapbox over to Eric.

Does the current generation deserve treatment on a classic games site? Absolutely...just about every retro gamer I can think of has at least one current generation system, and actively buys games for it. Maybe in line with our retro game sensibilities, a lot of the games we buy are used, old and cheap. Every so often something comes along that appeals enough to but a new copy.

Eric reviews the F.E.A.R. series: F.E.A.R., F.E.A.R. Files, and F.E.A.R. 2. Ben reviews Tomb Raider Legend and DiRT.

After a long hiatus, two new Neo-Geo Shock Box inserts are now available: Burning Fight and SVC Chaos.

Most Wanted has gotten it's quarterly shuffle. Now that E3 has returned to being the premiere event for gaming news, several new games made it on to my list including the surprise Metroid: Other M. I was hoping for another peek at Beyond Good and Evil 2, but it was not to be.

One reason for the sporadic updates, is that I have been writing for another 'zine. Initially a web offering, GameSpite has morphed into a quarterly print journal. While I can't be unbiased, It's a good read, and the articles are also free to view online.

Speaking of books, I finally got around to reading Commodork - Sordid Tales from a BBS Junkie by Rob O'Hara. As someone who dabbled in the Commodore modem scene in the late '80s, I found the whole book fascinating and am looking forward to reading more of his work in the future.
